Anyone 50 and over can register for COVID-19 vaccine appointments in Santa Barbara County starting Tuesday, and eligibility will finally open to all Californians 16 and over. April 15.

Public officials have warned that not all adults will be able to schedule dates immediately once they are eligible, but local COVID-19 vaccine deliveries are increasing and a new partnership has provided the county with thousands of doses for its own vaccination clinics.
On Wednesday, the statewide database showed that Santa Barbara County administered 188,878 doses of the vaccine, with 68,143 people fully vaccinated and the rest partially vaccinated (one dose of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine or Moderna).
The neighboring counties of Ventura and San Luis Obispo administered 406,243 and 130,686 doses, respectively.
These two counties have a higher vaccination rate per 100,000 population compared to Santa Barbara County so far, based on the state dashboard and estimated population data.
About 18 million doses have been administered statewide, with 6.5 million people fully vaccinated.
County residents must register for appointments through the independent system of each vaccine supplier, including the public health department, hospitals, clinics and pharmacies.
Public health director Van Do-Reynoso said last week the county will join the state’s vaccine registration website MyTurn by Thursday, with appointment searches and registration available. in one place, but not all immunization providers offered appointments through the portal as of Wednesday.
Searching for local postal codes on the MyTurn site yielded the same message:
“No appointment is available, we cannot yet schedule your COVID-19 vaccination.
“Vaccine stocks and on-site resources are still limited in your meeting place. Please accept our apologies for this inconvenience. We can let you know when other appointments and locations are available. ”
You can check your eligibility at MyTurn.ca.gov, sign up to receive notifications, and sign up for vaccination appointments there, if applicable.

The Lompoc Clinic now running still has appointments available for Friday and Saturday at the Dick DeWees Community & Senior Center, 1120 West Ocean Ave. Click here for more information and to register for an appointment.
The next community vaccination clinic will begin Monday at Allan Hancock College, 800 S. College Drive, Santa Maria, for seven days. Only Pfizer-BioNTech first dose appointments are available. Appointments for the Santa Maria clinic are available on the county website, https://publichealthsbc.org/phd-vaccination-clinics/, Thursday at 9 a.m.
A county-run community vaccination clinic will be in Santa Barbara from April 12-16.

How to make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination or test by phone
Vaccine registration systems usually require an email address for confirmation, but the county call center (attached at 2-1-1, option 4, daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) can help. people to register by phone, without the need for Internet access.
Testing appointments for free local state-run sites can also be made over the phone, calling 888.634.1123, option 8 or 2-1-1.
