Illinois COVID update today: IT reports 460 cases, 2 deaths

CHICAGO (WLS) – Illinois public health officials reported 460 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and two related deaths on Monday.

There have been 1,397,089 cases of COVID in total, including 23,324 deaths in the state since the start of the pandemic.

The preliminary positivity of the seven-day statewide test from July 5 to 12 is 2%.

There continues to be marked differences in the regional positivity rate. Region 4, along the Missouri border, has the highest positivity rate at 7.11% while Region 11, which is Chicago, has the lowest at 1%.

In the past 24 hours, labs reported testing 16,404 samples for a total of 26,152,157 since the start of the pandemic.

As of Sunday evening, 441 Illinois patients are said to be in hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 84 patients were in intensive care and 36 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

A total of 12,825,103 vaccines were administered in Illinois on Sunday. The seven-day moving average of vaccines administered daily is 17,288. There were 14,341 vaccines administered in Illinois on Sunday.
