Motorbike crash on Highway 30 leaves man seriously injured

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A person was injured in a crash involving a motorcycle on Saturday night, according to law enforcement officials.

At approximately 5:19 p.m., Cedar Rapids Police was notified of a motorcycle accident along US Highway 30 westbound east of the Williams Boulevard SW exit. Officers arrived and located a 52-year-old man about 30 feet from the top of an embankment along the highway.

The man was unconscious when officers located him. He was taken to UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital for what has been described as life-threatening injuries.

The area ambulance service participated in the emergency response.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
