A woman in northern Kentucky faces criminal charges after allegedly falsifying a cancer diagnosis and ultimately cheating thousands of dollars from colleagues and other supporters in the form of donations.
Jessica Marie Krecskay, 25, was arrested on Feb. 14 for stealing crime, Cincinnati Enquirer said. If found guilty, she could be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Between 2013 and 2017, Krecskay reportedly collected about $ 10,000 from colleagues and others after learning that she had ovarian cancer that had spread throughout her body, Fox reported.
A former colleague told the news channel that some of Krecskay's colleagues would clean his house or give him holiday time when they thought she was sick.
"The other girls at work will clean her house for her, take her to eat all the time," said Jessica Lunsford, adding that the 25-year-old woman was also shaving her head to sell her story. "sick time and hours off to go to her."
Rob Sanders, the lawyer of the 16th Judicial Circuit of Kenton County, told the Cincinnati investigator that police had opened an investigation on Krecskay after people had called to tell him that his cancer story was wrong.
"The publicity of another fake cancer case has prompted these same people to report their suspicions regarding this accused to the police," said Sanders, citing the fact that a student from Northern Kentucky University would also have simulated in 2017 a diagnosis of cancer for money.

Krecskay was released from prison on bail of $ 2,500. His appearance in the Kenton County District Court is scheduled for March 4.
