Los Gatos residents who were wondering what the paper on the windows at 21 W. Main St. was talking about can no longer wonder. The 1,300 square foot space that housed the most recently Craftbox has been converted into a wine tasting room for a Los Gatos couple who turned their love of farming into a brand of wine.

Gali Vineyards ‘new tasting room features wines made from grapes grown on Gali Vineyards’ 18 acres in Corralitos, and crafted by local winemaker Anthony Craig, one of the great talents behind David Bruce Winery.

Owner Janice Gali, who resides in Los Gatos with her husband Joseph and daughter Madeline, says the building that houses her tasting room was built in 1902.

“It was really well maintained,” says Gali. “The fir floors are beautiful and the natural light is excellent. It’s a mix of industrial rustic with black accents for an elegant look. We made the whole space open, airy and inviting. Everyone is very excited about what we are doing with this place.

In addition to the natural wood bar, there is a large lounge with comfortable leather armchairs, cocktail tables, and an 18-foot bench seat sitting under three large windows. The Galis plan to showcase local art in space. There is also a transom in the front with seats.

“There’s plenty of standing at the bar, and four people can sit in the floor-to-ceiling windows,” says Gali. “Our goal is to make it comfortable.

Gali says their Corralitos vineyards provided them with essential raw materials to furnish the new tasting room. “There was a 20 foot white cedar log on the property ready to be milled for the bar top. We also carved out a walnut tree that was on the property, which we had turned into two and three foot cocktail tables for the tasting room. There is a story behind every piece of furniture. We wanted to bring the vineyard into the tasting room.

At the suggestion of their daughter Madeline, who works for an Los Angeles-based advertising agency, Galis hired videography company Water Tower Creative to shoot footage of the vineyards to be shown on TV screens to further enhance the image. experience.
