Gerdena M. De Hoedt Brown, 85, of Kellogg, passed away on Friday August 20, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family at her home in Kellogg.
Gerdena’s funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24 at Newton Church in The Way, 2306 S. Third Ave. E. to Newton. The family will welcome friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday August 23 at the Wallace family funeral home in Newton. Interment will be held at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.
Kellogg Township fire and ambulance memorials can be left at the funeral home or church on the morning of the service. If you are sending your memorial to the funeral home, please add, Attention: Brown Family on the envelope.
Those who cherish the memory of Gerdena are her husband of 64 years, Merl; children, Mike (Aileen) Brown of Kellogg, Rick (Mary) Brown of Kellogg, Cindy (Mike) Meredith of Kellogg and David (Kathy) Brown of Kellogg; her nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his sister, Irene (Wilford) Roose of Pella; and sister-in-law, Lucy De Hoedt of Simpsonville, SC She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Gerald, Clarence and Rich De Hoedt; and a sister, Jacoba Walker.
