Dele Alli’s penalty secured Tottenham’s three points in a 1-0 win over a dominant Wolves side, as Harry Kane returned to the squad.
Wolves looked electric from the start with Adama Traore tormenting Japhet Tanganga on the left and pushing the Spurs defense with numbers high up the pitch.
But it was the visitors who struck against the run of the game as Sergio Reguilon played in Alli who looked to get around Jose Sa to be knocked down by the Wolves keeper.

Alli dusted himself off and sent the penalty to give Spurs the lead and give Nuno Espírito Santo the lead against his former side, but Wolves were back on their feet and relentless in their quest to equalize.
Traore, Raul Jimenez and Joao Moutinho each came closer and looked tired at the halftime whistle after 45 minutes of Wolves dominance despite their lead.
Wolves continued their assault in the second half and grew desperately closer when Traore was played on goal only to see his effort blocked by Hugo Lloris’ outstretched leg.
And Lloris was called to action again to block Jimenez and Traore’s efforts as an equalizer loomed but never came.
Kane was greeted on the pitch with cheers from away supporters, matched only by the mocking chants of the home support.
Spurs fans have left the happiest squad because, despite Wolves’ superiority, they left with all three points and maintain their good start to the season.
Man of the match – Hugo Lloris
On the afternoon he made his 300th appearance for Spurs, Hugo Lloris refused to be beaten and spent the entire time on his guard to deal with a flurry of effort.
