welcome to The Daily Eastern News, Eastern student newspaper.
The news covers a variety of things on and around the Eastern campus and you’ll likely see us outside throughout the semester.
As Eastern begins its path to normalcy, you’ll see us doing the exact opposite.
This year, we’ll be launching a redesigned website (where you can read this or visit www.dailyeasternnews.com to see it), slowly redesigning our physical paper and working more on creating visual content for our readers and viewers.
Beyond sharing exciting news of our plans for this year, we also want to remind our readers, new and old, of the opportunities you can participate in.
For starters, this student journal is open to anyone of any major.
We would love to see your talents and find a way to incorporate them into our work.
We would also like to encourage people to contact us, whether it is with a concern, an idea, or just to ask questions about what we are doing here.

However, one thing to keep in mind is that while we may treat this like real work (and many of us will be spending eight or more hours in our newsroom per day), we are still students learning. new things every day.
We are going to make mistakes. But we’re going to tackle them, correct them, and move forward as better journalists because of it.
Not everything we produce will be something you want to read or see, but everything has journalistic value that we are happy to explain to anyone who requests it.
We want to learn and improve, however, we need our readers to contact us so that we can better understand where we need to improve.
Most importantly, we are all just students ready to start the new school year on a strong footing and start producing content for the campus we care so much about.
