SHERIFF OF CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY
HARMONY – At approximately 3:02 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Hoag Road for a report of an ongoing trespassing. While at the scene, MPs located Gregory R. Rosier, 56, of Jamestown, and Leanne R. Calkins, 49, of Jamestown, on the property without permission.
Calkins has been issued a third degree criminal trespassing ticket and will respond to the charge in Harmony City Court at a later date. Rosier was charged with third degree trespassing and additionally had arrest warrants issued by the Hanover City Court charging him with two counts of third degree trespassing and two counts of petty theft.
Rosier was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail and will be brought to justice under the centralized impeachment program.
¯ HANOVER – A 70-year-old woman from Dunkirk faces charges after an incident on Saturday night.
At approximately 7:20 p.m., Sheriff’s assistants dealt with a complaint of an altercation at a residence on Route 20. Further investigation revealed that Beverly A. Saletta allegedly damaged another person’s property.
The incident allegedly occurred in front of a child under the age of 16. Saletta has been charged with fourth degree criminal mischief and endangering the well-being of a child. She was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment and will later answer her charges in the town of Hanover Court.
CHAUTAUQUA – Around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 430 for several observed traffic violations. The operator of the vehicle has been identified as Shane A. Reed, 33, of Erie, PA.
An investigation into the incident revealed that Reed was driving the vehicle while weakened by drugs. Reed has been charged with drug-impaired driving, breaking the right, and straying from a dangerous lane.
He is expected to attend Chautauqua City Court at a later date.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
¯ HANOVER – Soldiers from Fredonia have accused Nathan Crassi, 26, of Gowanda, of drunk driving.
Crassi was arrested on Route 5 on Saturday for a traffic violation and after failing several field sobriety tests, Crassi was placed under arrest. Crassi was transported to SP Fredonia where he provided a 0.16 breath sample. Crassi was then processed, ticketed and released. Crassi is due to be in the town of Hanover Court next month.
SHERIDAN – Soldiers from Fredonia have accused David Bane, 50, of Sheridan, of drunk driving.
Bane was arrested on Route 20 on Saturday for a traffic violation and after failing several field sobriety tests, Bane has been placed under arrest. Bane was transported to the Fredonia barracks where he was treated, issued tickets and released. Bane is due to be in Sheridan Court town next month.
¯ Jamestown soldiers charged Kiara Slaughter, 21, of Jamestown, with impaired driving.
Slaughter was arrested on Route 60 in Jamestown for a traffic violation and after failing several field sobriety tests, Slaughter was placed under arrest. Slaughter was transported to Jamestown Barracks where she provided a 0.11 breath sample. The slaughter was then processed, issued tickets and released. Slaughter is to be in the town of Ellicott Court at a later date.
¯ ASHVILLE – Soldiers in Jamestown have charged Ethan Fardink, 31, of Mayville, with criminal driving while intoxicated.
Soldiers responded to a residence in Ashville for a welfare check last Tuesday. An investigation revealed that Fardink was not present and had driven from the residence drunk to the village of Lakewood. Fardink was located at Walmart and placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests.
Fardink was transported to Jamestown Barracks where he provided a 0.14 breath sample. As Fardink’s driving record revealed a DWI conviction for the previous 10 years, the charge was turned into a felony. Fardink was then processed, ticketed and released. Fardink is expected to be in the village of Lakewood Court next month.
