WASHINGTON DC (Inside INdiana Business) – An Indianapolis charter aircraft carrier faces millions in fines by the Federal Aviation Administration for allegedly directing illegal charter flights. The FAA has proposed more than $ 2.1 million in fines against Indy Jet Management LLC and related parties.
The FAA says the proposed fines relate to Indy Jet Management LLC, Gary Aletto, GSA Investment Inc., AirXL LLC, Excel 2 LLC, Excel 3 LLC, Excel 4 LC, CJI LLC, Indy Bravo LLC, Bradley Cable and Citation Management LLC.
The FAA alleges that between March 2017 and February 2018, the parties conducted approximately 168 revenue passenger flights in multiple Cessna CE-500 aircraft without the appropriate FAA operator or air carrier certificates, and conducted flights without appropriate specifications.
The FAA also says unqualified pilots who did not complete training, testing and proficiency checks were used to conduct the flights. The agency says all parties have 30 days to respond after receiving the execution letters.
