Microsoft is heading (virtually) to the German games show Gamescom with a digital showcase on Tuesday, August 24 to discuss all things Xbox. The Gamescom 2021 Xbox stream will begin at 1 p.m. EDT / 10 a.m. PDT and will run for approximately 90 minutes. You can watch it live here via YouTube, or on Twitch, Facebook and Twitter.
Viewers can expect updates on upcoming games on Xbox and Game Pass – especially “game updates coming this year,” according to Xbox Games Marketing chief executive Aaron Greenberg. Don’t expect major new reveals or big surprises, but a “fun stream,” Greenberg said.
Games coming this year for Xbox and Windows PC include 343 Industries’ Infinite halo, which still does not have a confirmed release date; Age of Empires 4, coming to PC in October; Forza Horizon 5, which will be released for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs in November; and CrossfireX, which was originally slated for 2020, but is also undated. There is much more on the horizon (Declared, Dark perfect, Fable, Always wild, Forza Motorsport, State of decomposition 3), but many of these projects seem far in the future. Xbox devotees may instead want to expect updates for games like Minecraft, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Sea of Thieves, for the moment.
