Light line will close Babcock Street to the railroad tracks from September 1-3.
Information about the detour:
- Southbound traffic on Babcock Street will be directed East on E. Brevard Dr. to US 1, South on US-1 to NASA Blvd. and travel west on Nasa Blvd. at Babcock St.
- Northbound traffic on Babcock Street will be directed east on NASA Blvd. to US 1, head north on US-1 to E. Brevard Dr., and travel west on E. Brevard Dr. to Babcock St.
Safety improvements and permanent traffic changes on Babcock Street:
- The safety improvements will include improvements to the roadway profile, raised concrete medians, improved signage and lanes, as well as new sidewalks, exit gates and pedestrian gates.
- Brightline’s security improvements will mean permanent traffic changes for Babcock Street. When completed, the midpoint improvements will limit vehicular traffic to the right / right turns of S. Apollo Boulevard to the rail tracks.
