More details released on fatal shooting involving officer

BINGHAM COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) – Bingham County Sheriff Craig T. Rowland on Tuesday released more information regarding a Blackfoot shooting in which a deputy was shot dead on August 4.

Police said at around 7:50 a.m., the Bingham County dispatch center called a hit-and-run driver who had struck a vehicle and drove away.

At 7:58 a.m., a Blackfoot police officer located the vehicle and was involved in a short, low-speed chase.

The suspect vehicle crashed and three people fled from the vehicle.

The names of the three are Terrance Knight, 19, who is deceased, Sinjin Reyes, 23, who is in Bannock County Jail, and Cecelia Bronco, 22, who has been released from Bingham County Jail.

The investigation is being conducted by the North Critical Incident Team, with Idaho Falls Police being the lead agency.
