Orange Cassidy def. Matt hardy
It was one of the hottest debuts for an AEW Dynamite as Matt Hardy and Orange Cassidy traded leg kicks and “suppression” chants.
This crowd went wild for Orange Cassidy hitting the Swanton bombshell on Matt Hardy with his hands in his pockets.
Matt Hardy could lead AEW in serious injuries as he seemed to be breaking his nose in this game and causing blood to be spurted.
Chris Jericho puts his career on the line at AEW All Out
Chris Jericho putting his career on the line at AEW All Out makes sense and hopefully he wins. MJF already has three wins over Jericho, and he’s got enough gashes in his belt after taking Cody’s right to challenge the AEW World Championship and bring out Chris Jericho.
MJF wore a fantastic shirt that read “MJF-3; JeriBLOW — 0 ”
The Lucha Bros def. College blondes
The Lucha Brothers facing Jurassic Express and (hopefully) the Young Bucks over the next few weeks have the potential to be the best two-game tag team wrestling race in AEW history.
I know he was trying to be a heel, but I loved Nick Jackson’s Amazon Prime floral tracksuit.
Jamie Hayter beat. Red velvet
I was watching this game closely for all of Adam Cole’s Easter Eggs.
AEW has to return to Jamie Hayter’s musically-themed drawing board.
Red Velvet overcorrected during a suicide dive, then dared to do another one right after, which landed perfectly.
Red Velvet has been booed for foiling an outside interference attempt by Britt Baker.
CM Punk appears live
Tony Schiavone noted that the return of CM Punk was one of the greatest moments we’ve ever seen, and it wasn’t some WCW ’90s hyperbole.
CM Punk’s answer to Tony Schiavone’s first question was “I can’t hear you, Tony”. The CM Punk honeymoon period is very active.
CM Punk shouted Penta El Zero M, Rey Fenix, and Jungle Boy before they got to Darby Allin.
CM Punk took out the name “Voice of the Voiceless” because “AEW fans have a voice and there are people out there listening”.
CM Punk had subliminals for WWE while talking about Darby Allin’s height.
As fans chanted “yes” CM Punk hinted at a Daniel Bryan comeback telling them to be “a little more patient” and then yelled out his wife “April” (AJ Lee).
Jon Moxley, Darby Allin and Edie Kingston vs. Ryan Nemeth, JD Drake and Cezar Bononi
JD Drake, who previously wore a tank top that made him look like Kevin Steen’s stepdad, looked much more comfortable in pants and suspenders, like a young Big Bubba Rodgers.
Sting was working as hard as anyone in this game while holding the field on the outside.
Daniel Garcia should be proud of himself to be feuding with Jon Moxley and Darby Allin for several weeks.
Kenny Omega and Christian clash
Kenny Omega wore a t-shirt with a panther on it, and after weeks of CM Punk Easter Eggs, I’m still not sure if his panther shirt was a gold standard or not.
Christian inspired a new song for Don Callis “piece of shit”.
Don Callis compared himself to Bill Watts, Eddie Graham, Vince mcmahon and Verne Gagné.
Edge asked Christian “Do you think you know me?”
Don Callis saying “hold my scarf!” was the least threatening and hilarious line of the evening.
The Gunn Club def. Factory
QT Marshall won the pinch, indicating he has even less of a chance of beating Paul Wight at AEW All Out.
The Gunn Club were dressed in bright yellow, which is a lot to take away from an entire Trios team.
Dan Lambert cut yet another flawless promo putting Men of the Year as real men and giving them more goal than they’ve ever had as a unit.
Malakai Black def. Brock Anderson
That’s good, AEW allowed Malakai Black to sit cross-legged in the middle of the ring even though CM Punk is back.
Poor Brock Anderson must have followed the best entry in AEW with his own generic music and entry.
There was five minutes left in the show by the time this match started, and I still think that was too much time.
I hate this Malakai Black, who reverted to traditional black trunks, even momentarily sold for Brock Anderson.
Malakai Black stiffened Anderson with a savage right hand to his jaw.
Fans chanted “Black is going to kill you” after Arn Anderson refused to throw in the towel.
Lee Johnson came to the aid of Arn Anderson and Brock Anderson and watched Malakai Black. I wonder who will win this game?
