Ten Beach Drive will perform at the park

Ten Beach Drive is scheduled to perform the final concert of the Ira Township Music in the Park concert series on September 3.

The concert will take place at 6 p.m. at the municipal park of the canton of Ira. Participants are invited to bring their garden chairs. Parking and entry are free.

Ten Beach Drive offers a variety of musical genres including tropical rock, pop, country, and rock.

“It has been a great summer of musical entertainment at Ira Park and this concert will close the 2021 season,” a recent press release said. “Thank you to our sponsors who make these types of community and family programs possible. Start your Labor Day vacation off on the right foot with great music and a great atmosphere.

Road works in progress

Motorists in the area will see a handful of road and intermittent lane closures as various projects are completed in St. Clair County. Here’s a look at what to expect:

  • Townships of China / Cottrellville: The Marine City Expressway will be closed to eastbound traffic between King and Starville Roads until September 3 for rehabilitation work. Westbound traffic will be maintained.
  • Township of Clay, Harsens Island: M-154 will have intermittent lane closures at various locations during the week of August 30 for seal patching.
  • Canton Clay: Taft Road will be closed between Muskrat Run and Helene Street for two days during the week of August 30 for a culvert replacement.
  • Township of Columbus: The intersection of Palms Road and Gratiot Road closed on August 9 for the construction of a roundabout that will last 40 days.
  • Township of Kimball: Allen Road was closed from Lapeer Road to West Water Street on August 26 for road repairs that will take approximately 12 days.
  • Township of Port Huron: Westbound I-94 near Water Street began having intermittent lane closures for concrete patching on August 25 that will continue through the week of August 30.
  • Township of Riley: Dunn Road will be closed between Riley Center and Miller Roads one day during the week of August 30 for the replacement of a crossroad culvert.
