St. Anthony’s School Hawks reunion on September 5 at the Spot Bar

STEUBENVILLE – Saint-Antoine school “Falcons” The meeting will take place on September 5 at the Spot Bar, located at 217 S. Fourth St., Steubenville.

It starts at 1 p.m.

There will be “Music and great food,” according to Elida Petrella, a former who added, “Please spread the information and bring a covered dish or snack to share.”

Petrella provided photos appearing on this page and explained a bit about the reunion, which was started in 2000 by Jo Jo DiAlbert.

Every year it takes place on the Sunday before Labor Day, and this year is no different.

Sam Fornsaglio, from Florida, will be honored at this year’s reunion.

Petrella explained that the photo below from a past Hawks reunion shows Reno Saccoccia standing, with, left to right, Albert “Archie” Petrella, Rinaldo Saccoccia and Arthur DeLeonardis, who coached Hawks basketball for 17 years. “Archie and Rinaldo, Hawks football coaches for seven years, were our two oldest Hawks, who never missed a meeting until they passed away a few months apart. When Rinaldo coached the Hawks, Archie founded the Hawks Booster Club. It was the first elementary school recall club in our region with a treasure rumored to exceed that of local high schools ”, noted Petrella. “This elementary school even had a changing room with showers.”
