BEECHER, Wisconsin – A 68-year-old man from Greenfield, Wisconsin died Sunday after an ATV accident in the town of Beecher.
MPs were called around noon to private property near Park Street off Smeester School Road, where a man riding an ATV allegedly quickly sped out of a garage and crashed into a rock and trees, according to one press release from Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve.
The man, identified as Michael Heritsch, was thrown out, the ATV landing on him. Rescue efforts failed and the Marinette County deputy medical examiner declared Heritsch dead at the site.
The incident is still under investigation by law enforcement and the medical examiner’s office.
The MPs were assisted by the Pembine-Dunbar-Beecher Rescue Squad, the Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine Fire Department, the Wisconsin Natural Resources Department and Integrity Care EMS.
