READING, Pa. – Emmy Award-winning actor Michael Constantine, a Reading native known for his roles on the sitcom “Room 222” and the “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” franchise, has passed away.

He died on August 31 at his home in Reading, according to an obituary. He was 94 years old.

Constantine won an Emmy for his role as Principal Seymour Kaufman in the ABC series “Room 222” in 1970.

He later played family patriarch Gus Portokalos in the 2002 hit film, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. He reprized the role of the father in the 2016 sequel “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2”.
