An unvaccinated Florida TikToker posted her latest videos from a hospital bed in which she begged others to get shot after recounting days of hearing others’ moans and screams.
Just over a week later, she died of complications from COVID at age 31.
“I don’t have a lot of energy to speak, so I’ll try to do this quickly,” Jacksonville resident Alexandra Blankenbiller told her 16,300 followers in her latest video in a weak, husky voice.
“I did not get the vaccine. I am not anti-vax. I was just trying to do my research. I was afraid.’
“I think it was a mistake,” she continued. ‘I shouldn’t have waited. If you’re 70% sure you want the vaccine, go get it. Do not wait. Go and get it. Because I hope if you get it you don’t end up in the hospital like me.
In her latest video posted to the platform, Florida TikToker Alexandra Blankenbiller (pictured) begged her roughly 16,300 subscribers to get vaccinated from a hospital bed.
The video – the last of four she made while in hospital – was released on August 15. She died nine days later, WedMD reported.
It has been seen almost 834,000 times.
Blankenbiller said in a previous video that she was waiting to try and convince her entire family to get the vaccine at the same time, and that she had her own reluctance to get the shot.
“It’s good to have questions, but I’m just telling you for weeks I was really thinking about getting it, ready to get it, but frankly I waited because I was trying to convince my whole family to do it at the same time, ‘she said.
“But if you’re in my boat and you’re waiting to convince someone else to do it with you, don’t.” Just get vaccinated.
Blankenbiller, her mother and two sisters had all made appointments to be vaccinated, but before their time slots arrived, they had fallen ill, with Blankenbiller becoming the most serious of the four.

“It’s no secret it’s something that needs to be taken seriously,” her sister, Cristina Blankenbiller, told WebMD. “But there is so much misinformation out there.”
Blakenbiller made her first post from the hospital bed on August 13, in which screams of pain could be heard in the background.
She captioned the video: “The video got me guys. DON’T WAIT TO VACCINE YOURSELF! Go now !! And please pray / send good vibes etc for me. Stay safe muffins! ‘
In another, in which she was speaking to a commentator who suggested fears about the virus were overblown, she said her experience indicated otherwise.
“I have been here since early Friday morning, and all I have heard is the moans and screams of people in pain,” she said, becoming moved.
“People, I guess they’ve lost people they love, because I know what it is personally and what it looks like.”
She said her experience in the hospital, during which she spent days hearing other people’s moans and cries of pain, suggested fears about the coronavirus were not being exaggerated.

With only 54% of its population vaccinated, the state recorded a seven-day moving average of 244 Covid-19 deaths last month, up from a previous peak of 227 in August 2020, according to the CDC.
After his death, his friends and family remembered Blankenbiller for his selflessness.
“Her last video really showed who she is,” her other sister, Rachel Blankenbiller, told WebMD. “She was selfless. The kind of person who used his last days to help others.
“She has found beauty in everything and everyone,” she added. “She loved people without judgment. Whether or not you wanted his love, you would get it.
A friend and local filmmaker Royce Freeman said Blankenbiller often visited him on set and helped him out.

The two were working on a screenplay together when she passed away, WebMD reported, and she continued after getting sick, until she got too sick.
“The day before she arrived at the hospital, she was sending me pages,” he said. “She wasn’t feeling well, but she was pushing through.”
Local a cappella group Jax Treblemakers also mourned the death of Blankenbiller, with Alec Hadden, the group’s artistic director, telling the outlet that she was like family to them.
“She cared deeply about helping others, and I think it was this compassion for others that drove her to try and educate people through her latest videos,” he said. “She didn’t want anyone, even a stranger watching her videos on TikTok, to experience the pain and heartbreak that she and others in the COVID department were going through. And if she could help even one person, she would.
