An unvaccinated woman who died battling Covid begged others to get the jab in a video days before her death.

Megan Alexandra Blankenbiller, 31, regretted not having been vaccinated earlier in a series of TikTok posts from her hospital bed.

“I don’t have a lot of energy to talk, so I’ll try to do this quickly,” Ms. Blankenbiller, of Jacksonville, Fla., Said in her final video. “I did not get the vaccine. I’m not anti-vax, I was just trying to do my research. I was scared and wanted my family and I to all do it at the same time.

” I think this was a mistake. I shouldn’t have waited, ”she continued, then urged people to get vaccinated. “I think if you’re 70% sure you want the vaccine, go get it. Don’t wait, go get it. Because hopefully if you get it, you won’t end up in the hospital like me, okay? “

The video, posted on August 15, has since been viewed more than 900,000 times. Just nine days later, Mrs. Blankenbiller died.

Ms Blankenbiller was hospitalized on August 13 and documented her illness on social media. Her first video report, posted on August 14, showed her worried as screams were heard in the background, which she said may have come from those who have lost loved ones in a later video.

In other video, she explained to her followers how vaccinations work. “The vaccine is a layer of protection for you… it’s like a training camp for your body to face Covid. So if one day you come in contact with a living specimen of Covid, your body already has a plan. “

Ms Blankenbiller also explained her initial concerns about getting the vaccine, saying, “I was scared, there’s nothing wrong with that… it’s good to be scared. It’s okay to be uncertain.

Her sister, Cristina Blankenbiller, said WebMD “It’s no secret it’s something that needs to be taken seriously, but there is so much misinformation out there.” She said Megan, Cristina and their mother and other sister agreed and planned to be vaccinated, but all fell ill with Covid-19 before their dates.

“Her last video really showed who she was,” said Megan’s other sister, Rachel Blankenbiller. “She was selfless – the kind of person who used her last days to help others.”

Ms Blankenbiller’s death was announced by her sister in an emotional Facebook Publish August 24: “I am saddened and heartbroken to share that my older sister was called to heaven today. Megan was such a lovely person who gave her everything to anyone who needed it. She was a light to all around her and brought joy to everyone she met.

Below her final video, the comments included “thank you for encouraging others not to share your same plight,” “I’m going to make my date now” and “she used her last breaths to help others. RIP and thank you.
