Company News: SUNY Cortland Promotes 1994 Graduate Mark J. Yacavone

Marc J. Yacavone was selected as Cortland State University Collegethe new vice-president of finance and management.

In his new role, Yacavone will be the CFO of SUNY Cortland, responsible for ensuring the financial strength of the university through the development, oversight, planning and implementation of appropriate policies. He will provide the leadership, vision and direction of the business office, facilities management and human resources and will be part of the cabinet of the president of the college.

Yacavone has worked in the SUNY Cortland admissions office since 1997, most recently as Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, a position he has held since 2013. In this role, he played a key role in diversifying the pool. of candidates and the student body of SUNY Cortland. , which has more than doubled the number of students from under-represented groups over the past 15 years.

Yacavone has been a member of the local community for many years and currently lives in Homer. He graduated from college in 1994.
