Tadej Pogačar and Urška Žigart get engaged

Cycling’s new power couple got engaged. Tadej Pogačar and Urška Žigart both posted separately on Instagram on Friday to announce the news that they would formalize their long-standing relationship.

“You only have one life, and it’s mine. Dreams came true when she said yes! Pogacar wrote.

Žigart, 24, also from Slovenia, is currently racing for BikeExchange after riding for Alé-BTC. She and Pogacar have reportedly been dating since 2019 after they met when the reigning Tour de France champion was racing for Rog-Ljubljana.

“Eternity with you seems too short,” igart wrote in his social media post.

Pogačar and Žigart will race for Slovenia in the world championship road races this weekend. Pogacar will also compete in the TT, while Slovenia will send Eugenia Bujak for the women’s race.

Organizers are chasing a new date for Paris-Roubaix 2022 due to the electoral shock

Paris-Roubaix 2022 needs a new date on the agenda.

Next year’s edition of the paved monument was originally scheduled for April 10, but is likely to be postponed due to a clash with the French presidential elections. With the Tour of Flanders falling the previous weekend, April 3, officials were initially considering a new April 17 date to find a clash with the already scheduled Amstel Gold Race.

sporza reports that ASO organizers are currently considering holding Paris-Roubaix men and women on the same day next year as a workaround. The dates currently under discussion are Friday (April 15) or Saturday (April 16) before the Amstel Gold Race or Monday (Easter Monday – April 18) after.

“L’Enfer du Nord” will make its eagerly awaited return next month after the cancellation of the 2020 edition. The first Paris-Roubaix Women will take place on October 2 with the men’s race which follows on October 3.
