Utah confirms 1,885 new COVID cases, 15 deaths Thursday

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah health officials on Thursday reported 1,885 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 more deaths.

Of the new cases, 436 were school-aged children, according to a daily update provided by the Utah Department of Health.

The seven-day moving average for new cases is now 1,675 per day, and the average percent positivity rate of those tested stands at 13.5%.

Health workers have administered 9,427 vaccines since Wednesday’s report, bringing the total vaccinations given in Utah to 3,366,292 doses.

As of Thursday, 582 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Utah, an increase of 12 since the previous day.
