Art exhibits are back in the lobby of the Poway Center for the Performing Arts.

Lawrence Brillon’s collection of digital photographs “A Lone Paradise” is on view until the end of September.

According to the exhibit’s online description, “There are places that are looted, abused, neglected and ultimately forgotten. There are places to escape the normal hustle and bustle of life, and those places are where I will find comfort. Sometimes Earth and Man cry out together to save these places from further destruction and save them like treasures. This is my paradise. “

Brillon presents the incarnate desert, the story of the wanderer and the majesty of the sky through his photography. The exhibition includes selected pieces from his collections The Barren Desert, A Lone Paradise and Ciel.

Brillon blends his technical and creative talents into a collection of works from the mid-2000s, a time when Brillon and his friends were obsessed with desert camping, off-road exploration, and cast iron cooking.

“For several years, a lot of these pieces have been hidden,” Brillon said. “It’s satisfying to see a body of work in one place where you can tell a story. “

He said the ultimate goal is the chance that others enjoy the job, whether it is for a while or a long time. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of any artwork will support the preservation of natural landscapes through a donation to the Anza-Borrego Foundation.

Brillon is an employee of the town of Poway. He first joined the city as a graphic design intern in 1998, but hired as a multimedia specialist soon after. Most recently, he worked as an information technology analyst for almost 15 years.
