Patriots vs Jets: live updates, scores, news, game details

[ad_1]

The New England Patriots and New York Jets will enter today’s competition with very similar goals in mind. While the two teams will obviously compete for their first wins in the 2021 season, they also each have a head coach / rookie quarterback combo that they hope will lead their franchises for years to come.

Patriots duo Bill Belichick and Mac Jones started strong in Week 1 as Jones largely played his counterpart Tua Tagovailoa despite losing. This guy from Belichick is pretty good at his job too. The Jets newcomer didn’t start off so hot as they fell 16-0 down at halftime. They made the game interesting; however, as they rallied behind two touchdown passes from Zach Wilson and a big effort from the Robert Saleh defense to make the game close.

In a vacuum, last week seemed to illustrate how the gap between the AFC East teams has narrowed significantly. We will see how true this is in the coming weeks. The Patriots are obviously a more talented team than a year ago, but that might not be enough to compete in 2021.

Today will serve as a litmus test for what Patriots fan expectations should go forward. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way, so bookmark this page and follow it. Let’s dance!
