The Dodgers are heading into playoff baseball. For the 9th year in a row, the boys in blue have punched their ticket to the playoffs and will have the chance to defend their World Series crown. But things will still be a little different in 2021.
The last year was hopefully an outlier and something baseball will never have to do with the Texas bubble ever again. But the league has issued new COVID-19 vaccine warrants for staff ahead of the playoffs, and the Dodgers will obviously be one of them.
The new mandate requires that all non-playing personnel who have access to the field be vaccinated. Asked about the tenure and if his team were prepared for it, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts didn’t seem worried.
I know this is not a problem for me personally, I am vaxxed. We have received the memo, we are going to have discussions. I don’t want to talk specifically about coaches, but whatever is asked of us, we will stick to it and we will take care of it.
Doc noted that he also did not anticipate the vaccination mandate to be an issue for the Dodgers. He was one of the first members of the organization to inform the media that he had received his COVID-19 vaccination doses, so it was pretty straightforward there.

But the Dodgers have also made sure to keep the medical information and immunization status of mostly players private. They hit their 85 percent vaccination rate which gave them more freedoms around the clubhouse earlier in the year, but it doesn’t look like this new tenure will change much for LA either.
