A shooting left one dead and another hospitalized. It happened in a parking lot northwest of Oklahoma City.
“I can’t believe it was a few feet away from me sleeping,” said neighbor Peyton Shaw.
The shooting took place just before midnight on Saturday night. A family says they were at home when they heard the gunshots.
“We thought it was fireworks, but it was just different,” said neighbor Michelle Shaw. “We got out and looked out the window to see if we could see anything and it was very, very dark.”
Police were called to the scene and said shots were fired in the parking lot behind the Incredible Pizza near Northwest Expressway and Wilshire.
“Upon arrival, they found a victim at the scene who was later pronounced dead in hospital,” said Captain Jason Allen of Warr Acres Police.
Police later found a second male victim who officers said had been dropped off at an apartment complex near Britton and Macarthur. They were also taken to hospital and listed in stable condition.
Shaw says they have lived on this street for 3 and a half years now and says nothing like this has ever happened before.
“I don’t think we have to worry more than usual,” Shaw said. “But it was overwhelming that it got so close.”
Investigators still don’t know what led to the shooting and how many people were involved. However, they are now working to hunt down all possible suspects.
“We don’t have any definite suspects yet,” Allen said. “We have the two suspect vehicles in custody, and they are currently in our possession.
