INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Gold jackets, bronze busts and now the bling – Peyton Manning and Edgerrin James finally have their rings.
“Yes, the circle is complete. Now you have the ring. Because, you know, a lot of times you see guys and every time you always see that big ring on their hand. So now we’re officially one of the guys, ”James said.
“The fact that it’s here in Indianapolis and the fact that (we) can kind of host it together, that makes it really cool. It was definitely a special in August, but nothing like being in front of the stadium and the fans you were drafted by, ”said Manning.
Manning calls it the peak of his Professional Football Hall of Fame festivities.
Following their halftime honors, the duo delivered a thank you speech to members of the Colts Nation who joined in their celebration.
“I just wanted to say thank you. And I appreciate my years here… I just really say thank you, ”James said.
“Thanks. I mean, a lot of loyal fans here, you know. Edgerrin never had to go through a season 3 and 13, you know? I mean, we weren’t very good until we were. He’s coming in here. Let’s face it. Once we got here things just sped up. So it was a fun race. It was a fun time to play here, “said Manning.
