Russell Franklin Fisher, 88, of Jersey Shore passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Born in East End Salona on August 24, 1933, he was the son of Russell I. and Flossie (Jeriles) Fisher.
Russell served in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division before returning home and marrying the love of his life, former Patricia Weaver. He worked at Piper Aircraft for 25 years.
Russell has always felt more comfortable on a farm. He spent most of his younger years on his parents’ farm. He was fortunate enough to spend his last years on the farm of his daughter, Judy.
He enjoyed splitting wood, tending to livestock, making hay, and mowing lawns. At 88, he was still putting hay in the back of his Kabota.
More than anything, he loved his family. Together for 52 years, Russell and Patricia have created endless memories with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Russell will be missed forever, but his memory will live on forever.
Russell was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Flossie; his wife, Patricia; his son, Russell Lewis Fisher; and his brother, Hubert Fisher.
He is survived by three children: Debra (Steve) Lewis, Judy (Robert) Mundrick and Sara Fisher; five grandchildren: Robert (Vanessa) Mundrick, Ryan (Brandy) Mundrick, Lacey (Nathan) Laubach, Nicole (Don) Andrus and Marie (Eric) Weaver; eight great-grandchildren: Taylor (Jake) Martin, Dylan, Kyle, Kayla and Blaine Mundrick, Gabrielle and Dominic Hardy and Emma Mundrick; eleven great-grandchildren: Lilly and Gabriel Mundrick, Gage and Chloe Fuller, Lexius Laubach, Devin Andrus, Destiny (Dylan) Homan, Garen (Carleigh) Weaver, Jordan Andrus and Kylan and Jocelyn Weaver; and four great-great-grandchildren: Eden and Henry Homan and Rory and Connor Martin.
His brother and sisters also survive: Richard (Jean) Fisher, Maxine (Jack) Copenhaver and Louwella Reeder; one sister-in-law, Joanne Fisher; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Donald G. Walker, Inc. Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington. Interment with military honors will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.
