Special to the OBSERVER

Laurie Miller, owner of the Bemus Point Inn in Bemus Point, recently organized a fundraiser for Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue in Westfield and invited the agency to pitch a tent on the property during the Bemus Point Fall Festival.

Miller is a former PRN adopter and wanted to help out the shelter as well as support the fall festival.

The weather was perfect over the weekend and the volunteers were able to bring in adoptable dogs for each day they were there, as well as collecting donations and selling some of their PRN dog clothes and accessories. Miller’s animal-themed basket and Bemus Point Inn gift card raised over $ 900 for the rescue.

“The PRN would like to thank Laurie and her clients for all their support”, the agency said in an email. “The dogs loved the outing and was definitely a hit with everyone they met.
