This Friday’s football match between Ursuline and Chaney has been canceled due to COVID-19 issues.

Chaney coach Chris Amill confirmed the news on Tuesday afternoon.

Ursuline coach Dan Reardon said the Fighting Irish are now looking for a new opponent for Friday.

Ursuline comes off an exciting one-point victory, 50-49, over Warren G. Harding last weekend to move to 4-1 this season. Their only loss to date came against Chardon on September 3.

Chaney is 2-3 this season and had just suffered a loss to Canfield on Friday. The Cowboys are scheduled to face Harvey (Painesville) on October 1 and Howland on October 8.

If the Fighting Irish do not find a new opponent for Friday, they will play at St. Vincent-St. Mary on October 1, then will host Boardman on October 8.
