There is a new music from Big Thief: a song released today, titled "UFOF" and the band's third album, May 3, titled U.F.O.F.

From the first lines of the song, it is clear that UFOF means "friend of unidentified flying object". Adrianne Lenker sings: "To my friend OVNI / Bye, bye / Like a seed in the wind / It takes root in the sky." The song is quieter than we would expect from Big Thief and will fit nicely into Lenker's solo album released last fall. In fact, two of the songs from U.F.O.F. are also on abysskiss, his solo record of 2018. "Terminal Paradise" was played for the first time in concert with Big Thief and recorded last January for abysskissand that is also true of the extraordinary song "From".

Big Thief is Adrianne Lenker on guitar and vocals, Buck Meek on guitar, Max Olearchik on bass and James Krivchenia on drums. They have been part of my favorite music of the last three years, with 2016 Head-to & # 39; work and 2017 Capacity. U.F.O.F. was recorded on a 10-acre farm in a barn converted into a studio known as Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington State. Producer Andrew Sarlo, who produced the previous Big Thief Records, worked on U.F.O.F., as well as. This is the band's first record since signing it with 4AD last fall.
