One topic that is still popular at the Minot Public Library is genealogy, according to information provided by Joshua Pikka, technology coordinator. People of all ages come to the library to research their ancestors on Ancestry Library Edition, or to search microfilm archives for obituaries. On October 5, at 6 p.m., two library staff will host a program that will help genealogical researchers use technology to beautify their family trees.
“Getting your information is sometimes the funniest part of genealogical research” Information specialist Debbie Chappo said. Chappo will showcase databases like Ancestry Library Edition and other means by which researchers can gather their genealogical information using technology.
