It turns out that many people who previously refused Covid-19 vaccines find they will have to pay dearly if they want to stay unvaccinated.

I don’t hate to say, “I told you so,” so I’m going to say it: I told you.

The number of vaccination warrants is increasing. Given the choice between unemployment and potentially life-saving vaccination, many people choose the latter option, even reluctantly.

After a vaccination mandate for healthcare workers in New York City went into effect on Monday, the state reported that 92% of all its hospital and nursing home workers had received at least one injection , an increase of about 10 percentage points between the two groups.

And don’t worry, American private industry workers. If you are pointing for a non-government entity, chances are your job also requires a vaccination mandate. The mandates take root beyond the world of health.

After United Airlines instituted a vaccination deadline for its employees on Monday, CEO Scott Kirby said this week that 98.5% of its roughly 67,000 employees had been vaccinated.

Some states – including Maine, Rhode Island and Washington – will require vaccinations for healthcare workers starting next month. Others, like Oregon and Colorado, will implement mandates for medical professionals later next month.

On Monday, a federal judge ruled that the New York school district, the largest in the country, can require its employees to be vaccinated. The San Diego Unified School District – the second largest school district in California – on Wednesday announced the requirement that all eligible students and staff be immunized by December.

On September 9, President Joe Biden said the government would require all federal employees and contractors to be vaccinated, and all private employers with 100 or more employees must require weekly vaccinations or tests.
