The two suspects were released pending investigation and taken to Lihue Airport where they were put on a direct flight to Los Angeles.
The incident in Hawaii comes after a 24-year-old woman from Illinois recently made headlines after she allegedly tried to use a fraudulent vaccination card to visit the islands and bypass the 10-day quarantine. Authorities said the woman uploaded a fake vaccination card that misspelled Moderna as “Maderna”.
