Lake County has a new Rotary Club for people who want to help their community and enjoy the morning fellowship with like-minded people.

The Lake County Sunrise Satellite Rotary Club, which was established in April, is an extension of the Rotary Mentors Club and members of the Lake County Sunrise Club are also members of the Rotary Mentor, according to a press release.

Gayle Woodrow is the club president and Dale Smith is the liaison between the Sunrise and Mentor clubs.

The new club focused on helping children in Lake County. For example, he provides birthday bags to the children at Emma Caley Recoming Home and works on an ongoing fundraiser to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides books each month to children from birth to five years old in Lake County, the statement said.

The club welcomes new members. It meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7:30 a.m. at Scramblers, 9570 Mentor Ave., in Mentor.

Anyone interested in learning more about the club can contact Dale Smith at 330-968-7683 or [email protected]. The new club also welcomes guests to each of its meetings.
