COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) – Hendon Hooker pitched for three touchdowns and ran for another as Tennessee routed Missouri 62-24, scoring touchdowns on its first six possessions. Hooker completed 15 of 19 passes for 225 yards and rushed nine times for 76 yards. He wasn’t the only volunteer who bolstered his stats against a besieged defense. Tiyon Evans rushed 15 times for 156 yards and three touchdowns. Tennessee racked up 683 total yards as they sent Missouri to their second straight loss.
COLUMBIA, SC (AP) (AP) – David Spaulding returned a 74-yard interception for a touchdown and Parker White kicked three field goals and South Carolina overcame several mistakes in the second half to fend off Troy 23-14 . White netted a 37-yard field goal in the fourth quarter with just over two minutes to go to make it a two-possession lead and Damani Staley intercepted Taylor Powell with less than 30 seconds to go. The Gamecocks got a defensive touchdown for the third time in five games, with Spaulding’s return giving them a 17-7 halftime lead. Still, the Trojans didn’t want to go away and South Carolina’s inability to take advantage of their many scoring opportunities helped Troy stay in the game.
