WASHINGTON (AP) – The Supreme Court begins a momentous new term with a return to familiar surroundings, the mahogany and marble courtroom that judges abandoned more than 18 months ago due to the coronavirus pandemic .
Abortion, guns and religion are all on the agenda of a right-wing court, including three judges appointed by former President Donald Trump.
Judges will meet in person for arguments on Monday, although Judge Brett Kavanaugh will participate by phone after testing positive for COVID-19 late last week. Kavanaugh, who was vaccinated in January, has no symptoms, the court said. All the other judges were also vaccinated.
