LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ / Press Release) – The Lexington Theater Company (The Lex) has begun the audition process for its 2022 season, including the summer productions of Disney’s The Little Mermaid (July 14-17) and Chicago (August 4-7)). Over the past seasons, the company has envisioned over 1,000 performers from across the country and region each year to create the summer companies that will entertain theatergoers in the central Kentucky area.

Broadway veterans and seasoned professionals will lead the cast, while local professionals and up-and-coming artists from the country’s top university programs will have the opportunity to join them.

The Lex continues its mission of creating a premier professional regional theater and training the next generation of theater artists, so that our community can enjoy a shared experience of masterful storytelling.

New for this year, artists considered for the Professional Company will be able to complete an initial audition through an online process, which will allow anyone, anywhere, to audition for The Lex. Details on how to audition are available now at www.lexingtontheatrecompany.org. All initial hearing material must be received by Friday, November 12 at the latest.

Students at Central Kentucky Youth and High School will be able to audition for stage performance opportunities or apply for behind-the-scenes opportunities through the Lex Apprentice Program. College internships, apprenticeships and observers will also be available in the creative and administrative departments. Information on how to apply will be available later this fall. Interested students are encouraged to sign up for the Lexington Theater Company newsletter at www.lexingtontheatrecompany.org to receive updates.

Season tickets for summer productions and single tickets for “Concert With The Stars” are on sale from October 6 at www.lexingtontheatrecompany.org. Single tickets to Disney’s The Little Mermaid and Chicago go on sale January 10. For assistance with purchasing tickets, call 859-233-3535.
