COVID kills three more in the north of the country

TOWNSHIP, New York (WWNY) – Two more people in St. Lawrence County have lost their lives to COVID-19, and another person has died from the virus in Jefferson County.

County of Saint-Laurent

St. Lawrence County public health statistics for the weekend and Monday show two more deaths – the county total now stands at 122 – and 133 more cases.

There are currently 412 active cases in the county – an improvement from Friday, when the number was 455 – and a total of 10,863 cases in St. Lawrence County since the start of the pandemic in last march.

Hospitalizations are up three, to 18.

Jefferson County

In Jefferson County, 144 more cases were reported over the weekend.

The additional death brings the total number of deaths in Jefferson County since the start of the pandemic to 91.

Hospitalizations are up three from Friday to 18.

The number of people in “compulsory isolation” has doubled from 422 to 424.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 9,311 cases of COVID in Jefferson County.

Lewis County

Lewis County reported no new deaths, but 39 new cases over the weekend. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is 2,952.

The number of people isolated is 118, down two from Friday, and the number of people hospitalized is five, down one from Friday.
