And third, we have moved from being energy independent to being dependent on outside governments to meet our energy needs. When we shut down the Keystone Pipeline, suffering the loss of thousands of well-paying American jobs, we ensured the rapid rise in gas and oil prices, and the need to respond to the whims of foreigners who in most cases, are not friends of ours. WHY?
These are just three of the situations we face today. There are quite a few more that we need to be aware of. We still have possession of the greatest country on the face of the earth, and it is our responsibility to keep it that way. It is “WE THE PEOPLE”.
Now, to end on a humorous note:
A 15-year-old Amish boy and his father visited the big city for the very first time. They walked around, marveling at the different views. Finally, they came to a mall. They were in awe of almost everything they saw, but they were especially in awe of the shiny silver walls that could pull apart and then reassemble.
The boy asked, “What is it, Father?” The father (having never seen an elevator) replied,
“Son, I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. I don’t know what it is.” As the boy and his father watched in amazement, an unsightly old lady in a wheelchair stepped up to the movable walls and pressed a button.
The walls opened and the lady passed between them in a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the little numbers above the walls light up sequentially. They kept watching until it hit the last digit and the digits started to light up in reverse order.
Finally, the walls opened again and a beautiful young woman stepped out. The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said softly to his son: “Junior, go get your mother.
Have a WONDERFUL day!
