A community is in mourning after a the nursing assistant was killed by a colleague in a Philadelphia hospital on Monday, reports CBS Philly. The victim has been identified by her family as Anrae James, 43.

Neighbors tell CBS Philly that “Rae,” as they called him, was a good guy they often saw leaving his house in the scrub.

“Those who knew him know how much of a loss he is for us, his friends and the world,” reads one GoFundMe page, created in the name of his family. “Some knew him as Rae or RZA, but everyone knew him as the really good man who had a knack for making every… conversation special.”

The father of three was particularly passionate about his children. James’ father called his son a good man and said the world needed more of him.

“My grandson has a football game that’s supposed to be the week ahead and he doesn’t have a dad to be there with him, practice, none of that. I’m devastated,” said William James, the father of the victim, to CBS Philly. “I just hope we can get some sort of justice somewhere for his wife and kids.”

James added: “My son was just doing what everyone else does – go to work, go about his business and was killed.”

The shooting took place on Monday shortly after midnight. The gunman was apparently wearing lab coats and was armed when he entered the hospital. A police source told CBS Philly the suspect was identified as Stacey Hayes, 55.

Assistant District Attorney Chesley Lightsey said the suspect’s motive was unknown, but the preliminary investigation leads them to believe the two were friends and the victim was being targeted.

William James has strong words for the man who killed his son.

“Coward, that’s what I call him. I hope he gets his due because he kidnapped my son. He was my son,” he said.
