Cridersville man faces charges after lawsuit

AUGLAIZE COUNTY – A Cridersville man is in custody after fleeing authorities Wednesday morning in Auglaize County.

According to a press release from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, James Wilcox, 25, was wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident in which he allegedly threatened the life of a family member with a firearm.

At 8:17 a.m., an officer from the Wapakoneta Police Department spotted Wilcox and tried to stop him, but Wilcox did not stop.

This officer and another chased Wilcox on several county roads until the chase ended at Pearl and Willipie streets in Wapakoneta.

During the pursuit, two cruisers from the Auglaize County Sheriff were damaged.

Wilcox is accused of leaking, evading and tampering with evidence, both third degree felonies and aggravated threats, a first degree misdemeanor.

The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Cridersville Police Department, Wapakoneta Police Department, Ohio Highway Patrol and Grand Lake Task Force were involved in the investigation.

Wilcox is being held at the Auglaize County Correctional Center on $ 110,000 bail.
