Free flu shots available for the campus community

As flu season approaches, the University is offering employees and students the opportunity to get a free flu shot. Health officials warn of a ‘twindemic’ of COVID-19 and influenza; the best way to protect yourself and our community against both is with vaccines. Visit Porches to find out where you can get a free flu shot on campus.

Updated COVID-19 Dashboard with Campus Test Positivity Rate

The University’s COVID-19 dashboard now displays the campus test positivity rate, which reflects the positivity rate for testing of symptomatic people or close contacts of someone diagnosed with COVID-19. Updated on Monday, it will display the rates for each of the past two weeks. Data on students who complete segregation are no longer reported separately, but this trend line is reflected in the attached graph. See the dashboard, which is updated on weekdays, excluding holidays, here.

Campus Safety and Fire Safety Report

The 2021 Campus Safety and Fire Safety Report is now available on the UD Ministry of Public Security web page. This document contains information on current campus and fire safety policies, procedures and training, including crime and fire statistics for 2018, 2019 and 2020. Hard copies are available on request from from the Department of Public Security, the Admissions Office or the Human Resources Office.

Transport during the autumn holidays, mass schedule changes

The daily Buckeye campus shuttle service will not operate during the fall break on Thursday October 7 and Friday October 8. While daily Mass will be held at the scheduled time of 12:30 p.m. on October 7 and 8, Sunday Mass at La Chapelle de l’ImmaculĂ©e Conception will move at 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. on October 10. Regular mass hours will resume on October 11. Visit the campus ministry website for more information.

New look for the DUO 2FA mobile app
An updated version of the Duo mobile app, used for two-factor authentication, will be released for iOS and Android phones next week. The Duo authentication approval prompt will be slightly different in the new app. Watch a video step by step changes you will see in the mobile interface and contact the UDs IT Service Center with questions.

Lyft Flyer Ride service offers discounted night rides

Students can enjoy discounted late-night rides to and from campuses with the Lyft Flyer Ride program. The program is designed to reduce wait times and is available seven days a week from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Students can join the program by enrolling in the Lyft Flyer Ride website here.

Dayton Funk Symposium November 3-6

The Dayton Funk Symposium returns to UD November 3-6 with a lineup of academic, cultural and community events celebrating the groove-based rhythm genre that put Dayton on the music map in the 1970s and early 1980s. All campus events are free and open to the public. No registration is required. Single tickets for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra’s funk concert on November 6 are now available through Dayton Live / Ticket Center Stage. Learn more about the conference here.
