After Canada, the United States, Finland, Sweden and the Czech Republic officially announced their first three NHL Olympic players on Thursday, Latvia, Switzerland, Germany and Slovakia did the same on Friday.
The NHL and NHLPA have asked each team to name their first three NHL players ahead of the reveal of the first Olympic roster on October 15.
Latvia were the first to do so, naming Rudolfs Balcers, Zemgus Girgensons and AHLer Kristians Rubins to the squad that reached the Olympics after the qualifying round.
Switzerland have been strong with their first three players, choosing Nico Hischier, Timo Meier and Norris Trophy winner Roman Josi to represent the team.
Germany hope to capitalize on the team’s silver medal in 2018 with one of their strongest men’s Olympic teams of all time. Leon Draisaitl, Phillipp Grubauer and Moritz Seider will all represent the team in Beijing.
And Slovakia, who like Latvia qualified through the qualifying tournament, will be joined by veteran goalkeeper Jaroslav Halak and defenders Erik Cernak and Andrej Sekera.
