Police said the assault was prompted by a TikTok challenge, although TikTok said the challenge never existed on its platform.

The Braintree Police Department declined Fox News’ request for comment.
Fox News has contacted Braintree Public Schools for comment.
The attacks prompted schools and law enforcement to issue preventive warnings.

The California Teachers Association took to Facebook on Tuesday to reiterate how recording video in a classroom or on school property without permission is a violation of state law.

Even without any reported incidents, other school districts in Kansas, Louisiana and Ohio also sent letters to parents and shared the grades publicly.

“Slapping a teacher” comes after students vandalizing school property as part of the “Sneaky Lick Challenge”, in which children are filmed destroying and stealing school property , to then share the images on TikTok. Fox News recently reported that a 15-year-old student in Florida was arrested in connection with the destructive trend.
