The Thursday night game in which the The Los Angeles Rams defeated their division rival Seattle Seahawks in their home stadium there was a roller coaster with ups and downs. Here’s a recap of the prime-time NFC West football swings.
LOW – In the opening kickoff, returning rookie Tutu Atwell, drafted as the Rams’ first pick in the draft, falls to the turf with no defenseman involved. It looks worse because the ball also comes out and advances ten yards on its own until it is out of bounds.
HIGH – Aaron Donald puts pressure on Russell Wilson resulting in a 3rd save that LA struggled with in the previous game.
LOW – Matthew Stafford missed twice in the first quarter without connecting with open receivers.
HIGH – Seattle tries to convert a fourth down and runs, but Ram’s defense denies it by stuffing the run.
LOW – After a good practice in the red zone courtesy of Robert Woods, Van Jefferson drops the touchdown shot, then Stafford calls with an interception in the end zone to end the practice.
HIGH – Jalen Ramsey throws a perfectly mid-air pass attempt to set up an interception from Troy Reeder.
LOW – In the red zone, DK Metcalf beat high low coverage, Ramsey and Taylor Rapp for a touchdown.
HIGH – The Rams put together a 14-game workout leveraging the Run game with Sony Michel and Darrell Henderson Jr that ends with a field goal.
HIGH Continued – DeSean Jackson beats the defense for a 68-yard Stafford catch that takes the Rams into the red zone and Henderson executes him for a touchdown.
HIGH continues – The Rams offense rolls again, heavily based on running, and Stafford hits Tyler Higbee for a touchdown.
BOTTOM – Rookie cornerback Robert Rochell is beaten by DK Metcalf for a touchdown.
HIGH – Rams hit Woods and Kupp, then Michel hits him from the yard line.
HIGH FOR VICTORY – In Seattle’s Last Chance, safety Nick Scott wins an interception to make it a victory for the Rams.
In the face of adversity, the Rams demonstrate their ability to stick together, stay focused and secure a road victory over an NFC West rival.
