The first rebirth film for Psychic, the very good (if not as good as Monk, but what is it?) The USA Network mystery comedy series was a relatively standard rebirth film that brought the characters from the series together for a special little ‘here’s what everyone does’ occasion. The follow-up, Lassie comes home, landed on Peacock three years later and served both as a revival of revival and a celebration of the actor Timothy Omundson (the eponymous Lassie), who was a recent stroke survivor at the time.
Now the Psychic the team comes back again for another Peacock movie that seems to exist in part to justify the two-part pun in its title, It’s Gus, which is by no means a review or an indication that the film seems like a bad idea. If anything, “we’ve got a pun ready to go let’s make another movie” is a perfectly valid reason to do more. Psychic. The film is about the upcoming wedding of Burton Guster (the title “Gus”, DulĂ© Hill), and Omundson was on It’s us, So this is it.
This trailer reveals It’s Gus is going to talk about Shawn (James Roday Rodriguez) using the false psychic powers that everyone knows to be wrong at this point to unravel Gus’ future bride’s mysterious past, with Lassie d’Omundson also considering the potential end of her career as police officer . (He got shot in the last movie.)
Other Psychic Friends Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson, Jazmyn Simon and Corbin Bernsen are also back, as are Sage Brocklebank, Kurt Fuller and Curt Smith from the original show. (Curt Smith is also of Tears For Fears, and as Psychic fans should be able to guess, he will play himself.) Psy 3: It’s Gus will premiere on Peacock on November 18.
