National Geographic’s new documentary on Dr Anthony Fauci has been overlooked by audiences at Rotten Tomatoes, despite overwhelmingly positive reviews from professional critics.
Directed by John Hoffman and Janet Tobias, “Fauci” has been in select theaters since September 10 and began airing October 6 on Disney +. The film features interviews with Fauci as well as his wife Christine and daughter Jenny. Numbers ranging from former President George W. Bush and Susan Rice to Bill Gates and Bono also weigh in.

Rotten Tomatoes, which aggregates reviews from professional critics and online users, clearly lacked audience reviews for “Fauci.” Since Sunday, the only public scrutiny was from “Justin B.,” which gave the film two and a half stars out of five.
“While the film has an interesting story regarding Fauci’s career and family history, as a documentary it is sorely lacking. While it’s difficult to give a truly analytical and unbiased assessment, the producers here don’t ‘not even try,’ the user wrote.
“They have background rumors of people saying mean things about Fauci and then making it clear that these are unfair and only interview people who adore him. Not all professional reviews were complimentary, with a call Fauci’s film “a warts-free hymn to Fauci in which you never hear a discouraging word”.
“Ignored is anyone’s criticism of anything. No documentary, this is biased agitprop,” the reviewer added.
User reactions for the “Fauci” trailer on YouTube were extremely negative.
