LOCAL AGENT RECEIVES AWARD: Youngstown real estate agent Deborah Barber was recently honored as the 2021 Ohio Realtors Realtor of the Year.
The announcement of Barber’s selection was made at the organization’s 111th annual convention and EXPO last month in Columbus.
Barber was appointed by the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors and is affiliated with Altobelli Real Estate. She has been a real estate agent since 1986.
Judging for the Realtor of the Year award is based on professional accomplishments, the activities of the local real estate agent board / association, service with the Ohio and the National Association of Realtors, as well as the business and educational experience and civic activities.
Locally, Barber has served and chaired various board committees, including legislative, PRPP and professional standards. She is also regularly present at all events and programs organized by the local council.
State-level Barber has actively participated in the Ohio Realtors governance meetings as a director, as well as a member and chair of numerous committees, including Professional Standards, Issue Mobilization, Forum on legal issues, government forum, legislative and PRPP. Fund raising.
She has been the National Association of Realtors Federal Policy Coordinator for U.S. Representative Tim Ryan, D-Howland, since 2013.
SOUTHWOODS AND HUMANA AGREE: Southwoods Health has signed an agreement to expand local access to quality networked healthcare for Humana members.
The agreement, which came into effect on October 1, covers the health plans of Humana Commercial, Medicare Advantage (HMO, PPO, PFFS) and Ohio Medicaid.
With an agreement, Humana members can access Southwoods’ network of doctors at Southwoods Surgical Hospital and services, including Southwoods Imaging, Southwoods Pain & Spine Center, Southwoods Sleep Centers and Southwoods Express Care.
The relationship helps ensure that the benefits of the network apply to the professional and technical services provided by Southwoods Health. Southwoods Surgical Hospital services include inpatient, outpatient and robot-assisted surgery, as well as endoscopy services.

717 PROMOTIONS: 717 Credit Union, based in Warren, recently promoted five employees.
Sherri Ramsey has been appointed Vice President of Remote Delivery Experience. Ramsey, who has worked for the credit union for 22 years, will oversee the personal experience and call center services of the credit union.
Carla Devorich has been appointed manager of the newest branch of the credit union in downtown Warren and has worked with 717 for 16 years. She will oversee member service while maintaining the day-to-day operations of the branch.
Stephanie Cunningham has been promoted to Head of Teleservices. Cunningham, with 717 for nine years, will lead day-to-day operations and formulate and lead sales programs within the credit union call center.
Traci Hennessey has been promoted to Assistant Manager of Teleservices. Her role is to assist the teleservices manager to ensure quality service to members in the call center. Hennessey has worked with 717 for 25 years.
Leslie Long was promoted to director of the air base division and float department. Leslie, who has worked with 717 for seven years, will oversee the float department, manage member service and maintain the day-to-day operations of the branch.
AIM FILLS ACCOUNTING ROLES: Aim Transportation Solutions, the largest privately held truck rental company in the United States, has served as Assistant Controller and Credit Manager.
Justin Battisti of Struthers is Aim’s new assistant controller. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and earned his CPA license and started working with a Cleveland-based multi-wealth management company in 2015.
The new credit manager, Aaron Baker, is from Newton Falls. Graduated in 1992 from Ohio University, where he obtained his BA in Communication, he began his career in 1993 as a director in a consumer credit agency and then worked for Wells Fargo, Hoover / Dirt-Devil and more recently Olympic Steel.
AGENCY EXPANDS: Coldwell Banker EvenBay Real Estate has added Jill Mayfield as office administrator and recruiter.
Mayfield will take care of the day-to-day operations of the office and play a critical role in the company’s recruiting efforts.
Most recently, Mayfield was a guidance counselor at the Mahoning County Education Service Center and Gift Processing Coordinator for the Youngstown State University Foundation. Prior to that, she worked for over 34 years at First Place Bank, where she was Assistant Vice President as well as Head of Corporate Recruitment.
HOSPITAL WELCOMES PEDIATRIC OPTOMETRIST: Sarah Guillette, OD, recently joined the Akron Children’s Hospital Vision Center as a Pediatric Optometrist.
She will oversee a new clinic specializing in fitting scleral contact lenses, specially fitted lenses that cover the sclera and cornea. The clinic will serve patients who do not tolerate soft contact lenses well, who have inadequate vision with soft lenses, or who have eye problems requiring scleral lenses.
The Vision Center specializes in the comprehensive assessment, coordinated care and treatment of eye diseases and visual system disorders in infants, children, adolescents and adults who have remaining vision disturbances due to childhood eye diseases.
